Robbers Invade Bank in Agbor


Armed robbers on Monday robbed a branch of an old generation Bank in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The incident is coming barely months after hoodlums on separate occasions attacked two banks in the same Agbor and went away with undisclosed amount of money.
The robbers were said to have escaped with all the cash, both local and hard currencies in the bank’s vaults while cache of arms where recovered from them.
The Monday robbery incident which lasted about one hour was said to have occurred at the new generation bank along the old Lagos Asaba road.
The robbers were said to have riddled the bank with bullets, forcing customers to scamper for safety.
The mid day robbery attack however left one of the robbers dead while others escaped with a Toyota bus that conveyed them when the joint military task force and men of the Nigeria Police Force matched them fire for fire.
The amount stolen by the hoodlums could not be ascertained as at press time.
Sources said the robbers came with two vehicles and were armed with sophisticated weapons as they shot sporadically into the air, a development that brought business activities to a halt in the vicinity.
